Helpers!

Cash has decided he wants to be a cooking buddy with Haley and I, so we gave him an apron and we were set to make manicotti. Wow, I had no idea it would be so messy trying to stuff those shells with cheese! But what a fun time cooking with these little helpers!

McHargue Family Nov. 2008

One big happy family! I love you guys and wish this picture could be bigger but it came to me in an email (thanks Brittany) so this is as good as it gets! Haley looked at the picture and said, "Mom, I forgot to smile." I think she also forgot she was kinda grumpy that day too! Love the log!

The Wanderer!

If you look close enough you'll see these are pictures of Cash from far away. We call him the "wanderer" because he'll just take off and start walking wherever he thinks he should be going. Maybe he is going rock hunting because he always brings back some rocks. Ya he's the wanderer he roams around and round and round!

Wagon!

Gosh what a fun time with our daddy walking along the lake, throwing sticks in the lake, collecting shells and running with Ginger.

New Wagon!

Andy got a new wagon for the kids and we decided to try it out at the lake!
Of course the first thing we had to do was see how great it does off roading!
Sometimes I really get frustrated with Blogger. I wanted this to be the first picture so maybe I need to start thinking backwards to post the pictures in the right order. Argh!

Goodbye Christmas...

I started taking the Christmas decorations down and enlisted Haley's help, thinking it would be fun to work on a project together. Little did I know it would be very hard for her. She started out with a smile and then realized what we were doing. Here's how the conversation went...
Haley I don't want to take Christmas down.
Me It's hard but don't worry because Christmas comes back every year.
Haley But I don't want to take Christmas down.
Me Yes, I really like Christmastime and love the decorations but it's time for them to come down.
Haley Okay...(singing while taking the ornaments out of our Christmas countdown snowman) Goodbye Christmas, I'll see you next year. Goodbye Christmas, I'll see you next year. (getting teary and wimpery) Goodbye Christmas...(fully crying) Mom I'm so sad will you just give me a hug.
Me Yes.
So we sit on the couch for a bit and I think of what's coming up next...Valentine's Day! Brilliant! I tell her we can decorate for Valentine's Day.  And she seems satisfied. Finally today we found little hearts to hang on the pink tree in her room and she is a happy girl! Goodbye Christmas, we'll see you next year!

Goof Troop!

These kids really make my day!

Christmas Day!

Making pizza and cupcakes with our new kitchen center food!

I love having the joy of kids for Christmas morning! Haley was up bright and early but Cash is our little sleeper. So Haley, Andy and I watched Elf in our bed while we waited for Cash to wake up! When he finally did, Haley found Santa had brought her the baby doll set she'd been asking for since September. Cash was happy with the big truck that Santa brought.

Christmas Eve!

We left some great treats and a nice note for Santa and his reindeer!

Boxes...better than the gift!

Christmas Eve

This is a game we call the unwrapping game! Andy and I played it at our Christmas party, Abby played it at her party and Gma Connie played it with a lot of missionaries on P-day. Haley had heard all the talk of the unwrapping game and after our Christmas party she asked me, "So mom, how did the unwrapping game go?" She was so interested that I thought it'd be fun to play it with her. I wrapped a small box inside of a bigger box, inside of a bigger box until I had wrapped 6 boxes or so. In a little tin each person gets to roll the dice and try to get a designated number. If you get the number, it's your turn to put the oven mitts on and try to unwrap the presents! We put a $5 bill in the smallest box which is so hard to open, but oh so fun!
